I was commissioned to do a cow painting. I found an old threshold from an architectural restoration yard. Then I cut a piece of board to fit into it, prepped it and painted it with oil paints. Finally, the piece was set into the wall by a carpenter. It was a beautiful experience and I am grateful for patrons who don't carry a leash.
